The festivities will take place on Wednesday, October 30th from 7pm-10pm. There will be no Midweek Worship this week as we will be outside on the main campus sharing LIFE with the neighborhood.
It is with earthly sorrow and heavenly joy that we announce the entrance of our beloved Karen Walker into the presence of the Lord. She was a faithful member of LIFE Church. Sis. Karen served tirelessly in various areas of the church. She was an intercessor, an encourager and a dear friend. We pray for our Minister of Music, Alexander Scott, his siblings, Vladimir and Ranate and the entire Scott and Walker families. Further details will be announced. While we are profoundly sad, and will miss her earthly presence, we celebrate her heavenly entrance into the presence of the Lord.
At LIFE, we take seriously the great commission and look forward to every opportunity to carry it out. Every 5th Sunday, we hold Baptism, in which we encourage those who've never been baptized or have recommitted their lives to Christ and wish to be baptized. Christ's resurrection is something that we as Christians have a right to take part in. We were crucified with Him, dead to sin and raised to new LIFE!! It is truly a refreshing experience like none other. At LIFE Church, we believe in the principal of giving, and this is an example of that. On Back to Church Sunday, September, 15, 2019, Pastor Terence A. Merritt, M.D. called the congregation to sow towards to help the people of the Bahamas, who had been recently devastated by Hurricane Dorian. In moments, the congregation responded overwhelmingly. Subsequently, on this past Sunday, as we closed out Back to Church Month, LIFE Church presented a check in the amount of $1K towards Hurricane Dorian Relief Effort. We partnered with COGIC Charities to support disaster relief in the Bahamas and surrounding areas.
Over $100,000 of supplies and relocation assistance have already been provided to the devastated people of the Bahamas. Already, our first shipment of emergency supplies has arrived in the Bahamas, and is being distributed to families in desperate need. Additionally, a five acre warehouse site has been acquired by the church, where tea re establishing the COGIC Bahamas Warehouse and Distribution Center essential to the ongoing and long range distribution of supplies and resources throughout the island. The center is being stocked with 11,000 gallons of diesel fuel, pallets of drinking water, generators, tarps, tools, hygiene supplies, water filters, military grade meals, etc. Airplanes, helicopters and boats are being provided by strategic partners to facilitate continual distribution. COGIC representatives are already on the ground in the Bahamas, hard at work. Our financial support is helping to maximize our impact. LIFE Church is proud to partner with this year’s Laity Campaign “Kingdom Mission” which is so very crucial. “If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled, notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body, what doth it profit?” -James 2:15-16
