The beginning of the year at LIFE Church is a very solemn time. Every year, we set aside time for fasting and praying corporately. We seek the Father for His will to be done in our lives, the lives of our families and our ministry. Daily, we anoint ourselves with oil and we teach our children to fast and pray. Beginning January 3rd at midnight, we will begin this year's consecration. The consecration will continue until January 16th; 14 days of yielding ourselves to the Father as we begin 2018: The Year of the New. Fasting, by definition is going without food and/or drink for a period of time. We do it for spiritual reasons, as we see outlined in the scripture (Matthew 6:16-18, Matthew 17:21) We use our Prayer Agenda, outlined with daily focuses. This ensures that we are praying concerning the same thing, at the same time. This is what is called agreement in prayer. We also bring our families to corporate prayer in the Main Sanctuary on Wednesdays at 6pm and Sundays at 8:30pm. We also sit our families down for prayer on our weekly prayer call on Monday nights at 9pm. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the consecration. This Wednesday at 7pm, (January 3, 2018) Pastor Merritt will devote this week's Midweek Worship to a special time of teaching on Prayer and Fasting, so that everyone will have a solid understanding of consecration and why we do what we do. We challenge everyone to make plans to attend. In this teaching, believers will learn what fasting is and what it is not. Join us as we embark on this solemn time of devotion and consecration. ![]()
