This past weekend, we closed out Back 2 LIFE Month, by taking it back to Old School Church. That's right, we had throwback church ALL day! It was two powerful services at 10am and 6pm with special guest, Bishop S.Y. Younger from the RAMP Church in Lynchburg, VA. The choir went old school with their renditions of throwback choir music... and just when we thought it couldn't get any better, Pastor Merritt took us all the way back with old school devotion service. It was simply amazing. There was such an divine manifestation of the Father's presence. During this service, we celebrated 3 families of LIFERS who were blessed with a grocery shopping spree, in connection with Melinda Sampson, author of One Extraordinary Idea. At the 10am Service, Bishop Younger preached from the topic "God is about to bring this to an end!" and what a powerful word that was released in the house. On Sunday evening, we returned for our last Zoe District Fellowship Service for the year 2018, in which we held Baptism and Communion. We baptized 8 candidates in the water, according to the Lord's command. After which, we dined at the Lord's table during Holy Communion. As we do every 5th Sunday, we ended our evening service by giving away $1000 to a LIFER for Debt Cancellation. Brother Sidney Gant went home with this cash prize. What an awesome experience this was! It was a Different World Weekend.... On Sunday we culminated our Annual College and Young Adult Week at LIFE Church. What an amazing experience it was to witness. The Father favored us tremendously and prospered the work of our hands. Here's just a recap. On Tuesday Night, Alexander-Quan Scott with the College and Young Adult choir, and the choir did a spectacular job. On Wednesday evening, we held The Living Room Panel. We talked about topics like #ChurchHurt, tradition, whether or not we should go to church or not, how to handle friends who don't do church, avoiding the burnout of working in the church, and so much more! Our moderators, ZaDarius B. Webber-Odom and Kimmie Davis did a phenomenal job, as did our panelist, Trina McWhorter, Kimberly LaDoris, Monet, Carlos, Dashar Myers and Pastor Merritt. It was an exchange of generational perspectives in the church. On Saturday, we hosted our Day Party at Treat Love in Hapeville. It was so much fun. We rocked it out 80's and 90's style. DJ Ryan was on the one's and two's and we enjoyed our time of fellowship and fun. On Sunday Morning, Pastor Merritt hosted an exclusive session with our young adults, during which he imparted into our lives... He prophesied into the lives of our young adults, he spoke candidly, he gave us instruction and literally pointed us in the direction of our future. We are so grateful for that opportunity... The food--- SUPERB!! Then our Annual College and Young Adult Sunday Worship!! The Roll Call was so much fun. We think it's safe to say that Morehouse took the spirit award this year... and you gotta love those Alphas... they showed out. The Divine Nine came to represent!! Pastor Will Grandberry absolutely SHOOK the house. He came fresh from Canada to pour into our young adults and college students. He did so much more than preach... He POURED!! Our prayer was that our young adults would be revived, strengthened and inspired, and that we would have a life changing encounter with the Father-- and that's just what happened. We can't wait to do it again next year! |
